EVIL IS GOOD
Woe unto them who call evil good,
and good evil...
Isaiah 5 : 20
November 2003 will be known in the annuals of civil and ecclesiastical
realms as a pivotal month that produced not one but three strikes.
Within days of Satan’s holiday, Halloween, the Episcopal church and the State of New Hampshire broke free from traditional values and the Scriptures by electing to office openly gay minister, Gene Robinson to be Bishop of that district, as well as blessing same sex unions. New Hampshire may stand by their motto, Live Free or Die, as they have been for over 200 years, but to Live Free and Die in ignorance is another matter entirely. And least we forget, when people sin, our Creator can not only punish us in this life (we hope if we’ve done wrong before our Father, that He would love us enough to spank us now), but can do so in eternity. Nations cannot be punished in the next life, and thus must suffer God’s consequences (along with the country’s citizens) in the here and now. It will be interesting to observe New Hampshire’s and thus the rest of this nation’s fate within our lifetimes... The second strike came not more than a week later when a group of judges from the State of Alabama dismissed their fellow Supreme Court Justice, Roy Moore from doing the duty he was elected to do by the people of that State, because he refused to remove (in this case a 2.5 ton block of granite inscribed with the ten Commandments and various quotes from our founding fathers) his oath of office (to uphold the laws of the land which are, according to our Constitution, the Holy Scriptures) that was so prominently displayed in the lobby of the State Supreme Court building. The insanity was that even with an outside poll taken by one of the more liberal groups attacking Moore’s position, found that 1 out of 5 people wanted the tablet removed, which meant that 4 out of 5 people were comfortable and even agreed to allow the monument to stand. We hear so much about Democracy in this country, but only when the need arises. Any intelligent, thinking person knows that Democracy is not something you want to lay down your life for, just as no sane person wants civil rights (because Godly rights were here first and are much higher). We learn by repetition. Democracy is Mobocracy. The majority wins. If there are 10 people living in a community and 9 of those people don’t like one, and even vote to have that one person killed and decide to vote on it and come to an agreement, than that poor soul is laid to rest. Whereas, in a Republican form of government, the nation is run by a set of laws based upon the Higher Law of God in the Holy Scriptures that was established well before man’s law. You may want to kill someone you don’t like, and even vote with others to kill that person, but if your nation’s law prevents you from doing so and you disobey that law, you will then end up paying yourself. Now, knowing the difference between the true meaning of Democracy and Republican forms of government, and taking another look at that poll where 4 out of 5 people were comfortable with the ten Commandments monument where it was, what happened to Democracy? Didn’t hear too much about that subject in the press. And while we’re at it, the governor of Alabama, who publically professed to be a Christian and liked the stone tablet where it was, nevertheless, went along with the Federal government’s wishes. Did he forget that as governor, he can overrule the Federal government, because the laws of the land, the Constitution that our forefathers labored so long and fought so hard for, allows State’s rights to overstep Federal rights? That the power of Washington DC only reaches 10 square miles? Separation of church and State only exists in a fertile imagination, because you will never find that in any of our founder’s governmental writings such as the Constitution. If they had meant separation of church and State they would have clearly said so. These were not ignorant men. Our laws clearly state we are a nation immersed in the Christian faith. We just won’t make any one particular Christian denomination (such as Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, Congregationalist, etc...) the nation’s favorite. We the People has become We the Politicians. The third blow to this nation’s already shaky foundation came on the very last day in November, when the State of Massachusetts voted to accept same sex unions and grant them all the benefits as regular man-woman marriages. Churches can now perform these new marriages. The Catholic church was the first to bemoan the ruling, as the local Gay-Lesbian organization said the change in law had nothing to do with traditional marriage ceremonies that the church has been familiar with over the centuries, but that the State was just recognizing a civil matter. True. If churches wish to be 501(c)3 organizations, placing themselves under the laws of the government instead of the Law of their God, then the church becomes the servant of the State; Christ being rejected as the Head. Even the IRS will tell you a church doesn’t need a 501(c)3 tax exempt status, because historically in this country churches are already tax exempt. But if you’d like to be under our authority and obey our rules, we’ll certainly welcome you... And let’s not forget the annual ream-a-thon the government bestows upon it’s people every January 1st when they bombard us with thousands of new State and Federal codes they bravely pass off as law. What will we have to look forward to on the first day of the new year? But do not be dismayed. As the Lord of Hosts tells us in Isaiah 40 : 15, that the nations are as a drop of the bucket, and are counted as small dust to the balance. No matter what the insanity is around us, the King of kings is still and always will be in complete control. Or as Thomas Jefferson once put it, "The Lord is a just and merciful God, and I tremble for my country because I know His mercy and justice will not sleep forever." Continue to pray for your elders, your ministers, your local, State and Federal elected officials, your countrymen and women who serve with their lives on foreign soil, and all others who serve not only this nation but their communities as well (doctors, nurses, firemen, policemen, volunteer personal, caretakers, etc...). They need our prayers as well as our emotional and physical support. A kind word, a good deed to them and for them is as a cup of cool water to the Master. And since this is the season when we do perhaps think of Him more so than at any other time of the year (with the exception of the crucifixion and Resurrection weekend), let us turn our gaze toward His Light and know with certainty that our Comforter is here for us if we will only allow Him to enter when He knocks at the door of our hearts. May you all receive God’s rich blessings now and in the coming year ahead. Uh-oh...there goes Jia Tu trying to snag a candy cane off the Christmas tree...BAD DOG!!!
Until next month and next year, Kevin |
